Popcorn Box Centerpieces

Welcome to the Chaska Card Company. I make handmade cards and gifts.

Let's go to the Fair ... or the Circus!

Here's a close up - can you see the little duck shooting range? What's your favorite carnival game? I used to like to sit and shoot the water - the race thing?

I created these for a carnival themed event.

Here's another Popcorn Box Centerpiece, this one is for a Hitchcock Movie Marathon.

Do you need centerpieces for a special theme?
Let's work together to create something beautiful and unique!

Breast Cancer Awareness Card

Order a special card to show support for Breast Cancer Awareness.

Not so SCARY Scare Crow

Another Fall/Halloween project using My Scrap Chick.

I enlarged this little guy and used dimensional foam on a few of the pieces.
I subbed out his eyeballs with Liquid Applique instead of paper. They were just so tiny, even enlarged. I also added a little star I had leftover from another project... just because.

You can find the Scare-Crow Paper Piecing Pattern at My Scrap Chick.

Great Pumpkin Gift Box

A fun little gift box for presenting Fall candies or some other little surprise.

Clean and Simple: Thinking of You

I was inspired by a card on Pinterest. I followed the links to Blue Jelly So n So. What a cute blog! See the post here. Isn't it an adorable card?

I wanted to make a set of cards to give as a gift, so I made five of these tonight. It's been a while since I fussy cut a bunch of flowers, but I think it was worth it! What do you think?

Here's my take.

I didn't use any colored cardstock. The Lagoon layer is inked with a sponge. The flowers were stamped with Versamark and then embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. Once they were cool I sponged on the various colors of ink and cut them out.

I created the score lines with the Score Board and stamped the sentiment, then adhered the flowers.

Supplies:

Exclusive Cardstock: White Daisy
Exclusive Inks™: Canary, Lagoon, Thistle, Pixie, Pear
My Acrylix® Stamp Sets: B1462 and D1616

Gingerbread Gable Box #SDS-0000279

This box is lots of fun to fill with treats and can be sized quite large because it comes in two pieces. It can also be cut on smaller machines, using a separate piece of paper for the front and back of the box.  The sample shown measures 5 inches high. It was cut on a Silhouette. The front and back pieces were sized to 6.3 x 6.9 inches.

Instructions:

1. Place adhesive on tabs as shown and glue opposite sides together. Tip: Pre-fold all the pieces back and forth to make assembly easier and pre-decorate the front.
2. Fold in the "U" shaped tab first, then the outer tabs. The remaining tab will tuck inside. No adhesive is required for the bottom.
3. Gather handles and tuck into slots on either side of the box.

You can purchase this box at Snapdragon Snippets.

If you have any questions or concerns about this project, or any other projects, or have a request, please feel free to e-mail me at gallie (AT) comcast.net. I hope you'll visit us on Facebook as well!

Let's Get Organized: Stencils

Are you swimming in crafting supplies?
One by one, let's tackle our crafting areas together, shall we?

I started with my stencils. I love to stencil, make stencils, but my stencils were all over the place and I didn't have much idea of what I had.

Step 1: Gather them all up.
Step 2: Make some samples.
Step 3: Store your stencils.

Note: You might want to clean them before you put them away, just sayin' - I actually tossed mine in the bathtub. Don't worry - it was clean!

To store the stencils I attached them with Washi Tape to 12x12 sheets of cardstock and placed them all in a clear storage envelope I picked up at Michael's.

I store the sample tag album on my desk with some other sample albums for easy reference. I also put a bag of pre-cut tags so I can easily add new tags when I make or buy a new stencil.

Yes, it's that easy!

Here are some posts where I used stencils:

Artfully Sent: Haunted House Card

Inks: Pear, Autumn Terracotta, Slate, Whisper
Cardstock: Slate and Whisper

Other: Black Pearls (oops - retired), Green Paint and White Liquid Applique

To get the fun texture on this card I used some old mesh that I got at a Scrapbook Expo. Try using lace, screen, or tulle - you'll love this fun technique!

I stamped the sentiment on a strip of scrap paper and attached it to a wooden toothpick.

I love Halloween, don't you?

This new Artfully Sent Cricut Cartridge is amazing, just JAM packed with fun.

I subbed out google eyes for the eyes included in the pattern, and I mounted the nose sort of lopsided with some dimensional tape.
On Frank's "bolts" I used a score board to add some ridges and inked them.

The fun about cutting files is putting your spin on them!

CAS Christmas Card

This card came about by accident, as I didn't set the layers properly in Design Space, but I'm pretty pleased with the results.

What a beautiful mess!
